Canedo
Holds an Artist Certicate Diploma from the University Of North Texas and a Masters in Music in Voice Performance from Texas Christian University. During his graduate studies he was awarded with prestigious full scholarships and was the leading Baritone in more than 12th different Opera productions. He was the Don Giovanni and Escamillo for the Opera in the Ozarks 2010 in Arkansas. He is Belcore in L'Elisir D'Amore for the 2011 Crescendo Institute in Hungary.
Canedo is on the 2011 roster of Opera Singers Initiative in New York City where he has performed recitals. His mentor in this organization is the world renowned Maestro Stephen Smith, from the Juilliard Faculty. Canedo has coached with renowned authorities in voice performance, Richard Gordon, Paula Homer, Elvia Puccinelli and Stephen Dubberly. He has a broad experience performing opera, concerts, and recitals in the USA, South America and Europe.
Besides performing, Professor Canedo devotes his time to vocal pedagogy in the teaching and scholarly fields. He served for two years as voice instructor (teaching fellow) for the undergraduate students at the University of North Texas. He has been teaching children and adults in the metroplex area for the past three years at Arlington Heights Music Academy in Fort Worth. He is now a voice instructor at Booker T. Washington Fine Arts School in Dallas.
In his free time, Canedo likes to practice Yoga, reading about phychology and music therapy, enjoys cooking new recipes, and riding horses!
